Prince of Persia: Movie Review

I’ve watched this movie at least three times. Each time, I swear I find something new to amuse myself with.
Granted, the overall plot is fairly serious. Prince Dastan has been accused of killing his adopted father, the king, and is out to prove his innocence. However, this movie does an amazing job of not taking itself too seriously.
Prince of Persia is an adventure comedy. There’s plenty of both, but the comedy was by far my favorite. The humor is very sarcastic, lots of snarky comments and witty rejoinders to go around.

Most of the snarkiness comes from Princess Tamina, the potential romantic interest. Suffice to say she doesn’t think much of Dastan. Initially, he doesn’t think much of her either.
The action in this movie makes it move fast. Fights, ostrich racing (Yes, ostrich. Don’t judge.), and sandstorms keep things clipping along.
The official title is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Also, it’s produced by the same man, Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced Pirates of the Carribean, Between the title and the producer, I’m thinking there might be a sequel. I really hope so.
If you have an evening, pop a copy of this in. You won’t regret it.

This movie is a lot of fun to watch. It makes me want to risk my life riding on ostriches & sword fighting like Dastan does. (Plus I’d kill for the princess’s outfits!)
