My favorite period drama is Jane Eyre! I fell in love with the book and have watching almost every movie adaptation. My favorite film version is the BBC 2006 mini series with Toby Stephens as Rochester. He was PERFECT!

O please count me in. I’ve been wanting to try this series. I like Emma. I LOVED the BBC miniseries too. And love Wuthering Heights.

The BBC Pride and Prejudice is probably my favorite period piece, though I am not sure that it counts as drama… Does it? I love Downton Abbey, but that doesn’t have a book that goes with it. I also love Gone With the Wind. I don’t know why, since Scarlett is such an irredeemable character, but I really love it. I haven’t read North and South, but I didn’t like the DVD.

What an exciting giveaway! I think my favorite period piece is the 1930s version of Pride and Prejudice with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. I think I’ve seen every version that’s been made but that one is just perfect. Though, to be honest, I love them all. I watch all Austen-related television and movie versions more than is probably healthy. I haven’t seen or read North and South but I’ve been hearing about it quite a bit on Twitter and on a few blogs lately so I’m excited to give it a try soon.

Um, while I adore North and South, my favorite period drama would have to be the BBC mini-series of Pride and Prejudice. Of course, I’m also loving Downton Abbey with the rest of the world (while there is not a specific Downton Abbey book, there is a book on Lady Almina). Thank you for hosting the giveaway and highlighting such a lovely story!

    I LOVE THIS!

Anyway, my favorite period drama… is hard to say.
I love Wives and Daughters (also by Gaskell) and I love P&P of course, and the many Jane Eyres.

I have a really soft spot for Ivanhoe.

But I guess that really, I always go back to the series that introduced me to period mini series: The Buccaneers, there is just something I love about it that I can’t define. It brings me back to my childhood and my ideas of romance I guess.

A new favorite is the BBC version of Sense and Sensibility, if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.

Oh goodness there are so many to choose from. P&P is what got me into all these great reads and movies. Yet, I could read Wuthering Heights over and over again. My best friend from high school still have weekend BBC-a-thons every time she comes home and we adore North & South. This last time we watched the first season of Downton Abbey and I’m addicted! Thank you for such a great giveaway.

My favorite period drama is North and South, I fell in love with the chemistry of the leads and the entire feel of the production. I think the music, sets and costume were perfect and I am happy that the series didn’t deviate much from the book (no spoilers from me).

Which is my favorite period drama? I think it would have to be a tie between Sense & Sensibility and North & South, but if we are including new shows then I have to throw Downtown Abbey into the running. I love North & South, I’ve read it a dozen times and watched it nearly as much.

I could say North & south but that would be too easy, lol. I definetely love Jane Eyre even though it comes second (but at a close second!).
