Ten Titles Done Right
In overstuffed bookstores where carefully positioned books are spines out and list posts online where only title and author are given, titles make or break my decision to learn more about a book.
Here’s a list of titles that made me do a double-take:
I was Told There’d be Cake
The Kid Table
Entwined
The Unwritten Rule
The Beginning of After
Jane Austen Ruined My Life
The Tear Collector
Scribbler of Dreams
Sing Me to Sleep
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
And my all-time personal favorite:
It’s Your Kid, Not a Gerbil
What’s your fave title?
Sponsoring More Birthdays
For awhile, cancer was something that wasn’t a part of my life. I watched it end lives and tear families apart, but I never had to deal with it. Not until a few weeks ago. My grandmother has been diagnosed with cancer.
The doctors don’t know what kind it is or what to do about it. She’s elderly, and some think having chemo could kill her.
Because of my grandmother and millions of other people like her, I’m a supporter of the American Cancer Society. Raising public awareness about cancer since 1913, ACS wants everyone to have more birthdays. In their own words, they help people:
Stay well, get well, find cures, & fight back”
There has to be a cure.

Books Read in 2012
From January 1 to December 31, I’ll be participating in the 150+ Reading Challenge hosted by My Overstuffed Bookshelf. I’ve been meaning to track what I read for some time, so this challenge will give me the bump I need. 150 books is quite a challenge for me, especially with school, but I’m going to give it my best shot.
The best part about this challenge is that there are no restrictions. Fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, print: everything’s allowed!
This will be the only challenge I’ll be participating in during 2012. I’ve suffered cases of challenge overload in the past, and I never want to do that again.
I’ll be adding this page to my links in the header soon, so you can keep up with what I’m reading throughout the year.
Are you participating in any challenges? I’d love to hear about them.
